‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’: Alia Bhatt welcomes co-star Ajay Devgn; actor says he ‘feels good’ being on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s sets again – Times of India
The actor, who will play a prominent role in the Alia Bhatt-lead ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi‘, on Saturday, took to his Instagram handle to share a picture of himself sharing a laugh with his director on the sets.
“Back on Sanjay’s set after two decades; feels good!” he captioned the photo.
This comes in response to SLB’s post on his official Bhansali Productions handle. The director welcomed Ajay on the sets for his first day of the shoot. Joining in the friendly exchange was leading lady Alia, who shared the photo on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “Welcome, welcome @AjayDevgn.”
‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ marks the reunion of Bhansali and Devgn who previously worked together in the 1999 blockbuster ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. It also marks the actor’s reunion with Alia, with who he shares the screen in the upcoming SS Rajamouli directorial ‘RRR‘.
‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ revolves around the life of Gangubai Kothewali, who was sold into prostitution and rose to become one of the most revered and powerful women in Kamathipura and Mumbai city. The film is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens Of Mumbai.
While this is Bhansali’s 10th directorial, it will be his first outing with Alia.
The film is all scheduled to hit the cinema halls on July 30 this year.
