World Premiere: BLACKPINK’s Rosé debuts solo English track ‘On The Ground’, her most personal track yet – Times of India
The BLACKPINK star held a virtual world premiere of the music video that had over a million BLINKS and fans around the world tuning in for the big launch. The much-anticipated track may just be Rosé’s most personal track yet that has her singing about her rise to fame, “but everything I needed was on the ground,” she sings in the chorus.
The music video sees the star in her glamorous best avatar, running in streets filled with destruction and also features some of her quiet moments in a destroyed home filled with flowers.
“I used to have a hole in the wall with a mattress/ It’s funny when you want it/ Suddenly you have it/ You find out that your gold’s just plastic” she raps in the track accompanied by the soothing strumming of the guitar.
With the release of her album –R–, Rosé has officially taken off on her solo music journey, to sing the kind of songs she has always wanted. The singer revealed in the past that this venture was years in the making and that it would not have been possible without the support of her music production company, her fans and BLACKPINK bandmates – Lisa, Jisoo and Jennie.
Penning a note of love to all her fans and BLINKS waiting patiently for her solo venture since January 2021, Rosé wrote, “To everyone who has been waiting patiently, thank you and I can’t wait for you guys to hear the song.”
‘On The Ground’ came in as a surprise announcement, especially after the singer debuted her single ‘Gone’ at the BLACKPINK virtual concert early this year.
