WhatsApp iOS app updated to version 2.21.40: New animation for voice messages, disable receipts and more – Times of India

Facebook-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has been updated for iOS devices. The update brings WhatsApp version 2.21.40 and comes with features like new animation for voice messages and disable receipts.
The update is live on the Apple App Store for download. The changelog, however, is still not available. But, a report by WABetaInfo last month showed that the version 2.21.40 comes with minor changes.
These include a new animation for voice messages. As part of the new animation, the voice message progress bar jumps back to start once it reaches the end. According to the report, this animation is available for iOS 13 and above versions.
The latest update also changes the read receipt for voice messages. If a user has disabled read receipts on iOS, then a contact who sends a voice message to him/her will not be notified when the user listens to it. To disable read receipts, head to Settings > Account > Privacy on WhatsApp.
