Watch: ‘Vaathi Coming’ celebrations for Dinesh Karthik and Co. after SMAT win | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Dinesh Karthik-led Tamil Nadu team defeated Baroda comfortably by 7 wickets to clinch their second Syed Mushtaq Ali title on Sunday. Completely dominating the opposition in the one-sided affair, Karthik and co. first restricted Baroda to a lowly 120/9 and then comfortably chased down the target with 12 balls to spare.
Winning the first domestic tournament in the COVID era was a special moment and the celebrations of the win too were different in the dressing room as the team, in a coordinated effort, was seen grooving to the tunes of the ‘Vaathi Coming’ song from the recently released South Indian blockbuster Master.

Left-arm spinner Manimaran Siddharth was the showstopper for Tamil Nadu in the final as he clinched 4/20, decimating the opposition’s batting lineup.
Tamil Nadu remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.

“We played some really good cricket and we have been pretty consistent throughout. There have been so many good performances throughout the season,” an elated Dinesh Karthik said after the win.
