Veteran Sandalwood director Venkatswamy passes away – Times of India


Director Venkatswamy has breathed his last on Sunday night. He was 63. Venkatswamy leaves behind a wife and two children. The entire Sandalwood industry has mourned the death of the actor.

The actor will be laid to rest today in Bengaluru. Apart from film industry, Venkatswamy had his mark both the silver screen and small screen. Before he turned independent film maker, he had worked as associate director for many years. He has directed movies like Nammora Yajamana, Sindhu and Nan Love Maadtiya. He had also involved in production activities.

His directorial film Namoora Yajamana which got released in 2002 had Charanraj, MOhan, Damini and Shobhraj in lead roles. His another film Sindhu which got released in 1998 had Vanishree and Sanay in the lead role. Venkatswamy had produced this film. Nanaa Love Madtiya is his his last film to hit screens. The film had Dileep Raj, Deepu, Doddana, Girija Lokesh, Harish Rai, Bank Janardhan and Girish Shivanna in significant roles. Music was composed by Mysore Gopi.
