NEW DELHI: LG has revealed the timeline for rolling out Android 11 update to its smartphones. The company announced that it will start the Android 11 rollout from April 2021.
LG also confirmed that its mid-range smartphone — LG Vilvet 5G will be the first to get an Android 11 update. The LG G8X users will be able to experience Android 11 in Q2. On the other hand, the LG Velvet 4G and LG G8S users will have to wait till Q3, 2021 for Android 11.
The company also said that its flagship smartphone LG Wing and K-series smartphones K52 and K42 will get Android 11 update in Q4, 2021.
With the Android 11 update, LG smartphone users will be able to experience features like default screen recorder, better media controller, native smart home control, one-time permission to apps, security fixes via Google Play and others.

Recently, an online report revealed that LG has indefinitely put its V60 successor on hold. Codenamed Rainbow, LG was supposed to start the field testing for the smartphone at the end of February and it was expected to release in March this year. But the report highlights that the company has ceased all the communication with local carriers related to the release of the Rainbow.
The LG Rainbow smartphone was said to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. The smartphone was also expected to come with stylus support.
