Sona Mohapatra lashes out at ‘Bollywood’s sorry remix saga’; slams Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Roohi’ song ‘Nadiyon Paar’ – Times of India

Singer Sona Mohapatra is quite active on Twitter and today she took a direct dig at the remix culture in Bollywood over a new dance number ‘Nadiyon Paar’ starring Janhvi Kapoor in her next film ‘Roohi’.

Sharing a news article on the song, the singer wrote, “The sorry saga of remixing songs in Bollywood continues, the message that they put out is clear – we have no need or respect for original creators, creation, music composers, lyricists even singers. What it also says is that we have no confidence, spine, guts to back the new.”

The song Nadiyon Paar is the remix version of Shamur’s hit song ‘Let The Music Play.’ Featuring Janhvi in the lead, the actress is seen in a dazzling avatar with her smooth dance moves.

Talking about the new track, music composer Sachin-Jigar has said, “ Let the Music Play is a cult tune, and the opportunity to present this song to a new generation was irresistible! Nadiyon Paar absorbs the elements that made the original so special and sprinkles a bit of Roohi’s magic, to bring that extra tadka.”

‘Roohit’ is all set to release on 11 March, 2021. Apart from Janhvi Kapoor, it also stars Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma in the lead roles.
