NEW DELHI. Petrol and diesel prices continued to rise for the eighth consecutive day across the country, with oil on the boil in global markets and both crude and product prices seeing a big spike.

On a day when petrol crossed the Rs 100 mark in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the middle-class would not have been burdened if the previous governments had focussed on reducing India’s energy import dependence.

The continuous surge in petrol prices followed by PM blaming previous governments for it has led to social media users creating memes and jokes to vent out their frustration.
