Shahid Kapoor congratulates team ‘Jersey’ on winning National Awards; says ‘thanks for the extra pressure’ – Times of India


Actor Shahid Kapoor, who is quite active on social media, has congratulated team ‘Jersey’ for winning two honours at the 67
th National Film Awards. The film bagged the award for Best Telugu Film and Navin Nooli won the Best Editor’s honour on Monday evening. Shahid will be seen recreating Nani’s magic in the Hindi remake of the film.

Shahid took to social media and shared the poster of the film. Along with the poster, he penned a sweet and funny note for the team that read, “Huge congratulations to the entire team. Thanks for the extra pressure 👍😁🙌” Have a look:

Director Gowtam Tinnanuri, who has also directed the Hindi remake, expressed his excitement and told IANS, “I’m very thankful that our film ‘Jersey’ has received the highest honour, by winning the prestigious National Award for Best Film in Telugu. I’m overwhelmed with the love and response the film has received from all, and I’m eagerly looking forward to bringing the Hindi version of ‘Jersey’ to the national audience this coming Diwali.”

The sports drama is based on late bloomers and revolves around Arjun, a failed cricketer who decides to fulfill his son’s dream of representing the Indian cricket team.

Apart from Shahid, the film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in pivotal parts. The film is slated to release on Diwali 2021.
