Sena member threatened me in LS, Ind MP writes to Birla | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Independent Lok Sabha MP from Amravati Navneet Rana on Monday wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla alleging that Sena MP Arvind Sawant threatened her in the House lobby after she forcefully questioned the Thackeray government in the Sachin Waze-Anil Deshmukh matter.
Rana, whose husband is an MLA in Maharashtra, has given an account of how she raised the issue in the House and was later threatened in the Lok Sabha lobby. In the House, Rana spoke on ex- Mumbai Police commissioner Param Bir Singh’s allegations regarding bribe demands and the alleged involvement of home minister Anil Deshmukh. Rana said many questions are being raised about the Thackeray government with regard to the controversy regarding the killing of Mansukh Hiren, Waze’s role and Param Bir Singh’s letter. “I raised those questions in Parliament. For questioning the government, Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant threatened me and said ‘tu Maharashtra mein kaisey ghoomti hai, mein dekhta hoon aur terey ko bhi jail mein dalengey’ (I will see how you are able to move around in Maharashtra and we will put you also in jail),” Rana alleged.
She added that she had been threatened earlier too on “Shiv Sena’s letterhead and on phone”. She said she has been many times threatened that her face will be disfigured with acid and she will be killed. She has sent copies of the letter to PM Modi, union home minister Amit Shah, the parliamentary affairs minister and Delhi Police commissioner.
