‘Saina’ biopic: Badminton fans notice a blooper in Parineeti Chopra’s poster – Times of India

Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra dropped the release date and first poster of her much-anticipated sports-drama ‘Saina’, based on the life of ace badminton star Saina Nehwal.

The poster featured a hand with a tricolour wrist band throwing a shuttlecock in the air, ready to serve. While Chopra’s fans couldn’t hold back their excitement to see the film, badminton fans took to Twitter to point out a major blooper.

Many pointed out that the poster shows what appears to be a tennis serve, and not the actions for badminton serve. While acknowledging that the poster may have been created in a way that the title is fashioned into a shuttlecock, many couldn’t help but ask, “Wait, I’m confused… Tennis or badminton?”

Another said, “I loved the concept. But then, I saw a hand underneath.”

“It’s Saina or Sania!!! Badminton or tennis!!! Confusing poster,” another pointed out.

‘Saina’ will hit the big screens on March 26, 2021.

Written and directed by Amol Gupte, the film was scheduled to hit screens last summer but got delayed due to the covid-19 lockdown.
