‘Roohi’ box office early estimate day 2: Janhvi Kapoor starrer witnesses a normal drop – Times of India


Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma starrer ‘Roohi’ released on Thursday and it has managed to hit the bull’s eye amid the pandemic. The film received mixed reviews from the critics but it went on to earn 2.50 crore on its first day.

According to the latest report by Boxofficeindia.com, the film saw a usual drop of 25-30% on day 2. The film released on the occasion of Mahashivratri and it is normal to witness a drop after the holiday. As per the early estimate trend, the film has collected in the range of 1.75 to 2 crore on its second day.

Going by the early trends, the film might stand on a total of 4.50 to 4.75 crore. It can hit the double-digit number if the film sees a jump on Saturday. The report also suggests that the second day of ‘Roohi’ is still more than the first day of any film released post the pandemic including Hollywood movies. The film has witnessed a bigger drop in areas like NCR, Noida and Gurgaon.

Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with ETimes, Janhvi had spoken about her second theatrical release after 2018. She had said, “Of course, I understand the circumstances and I am hoping that people go to the theatres to watch our film because it is really meant to be a big-screen experience. It is meant for a community viewing experience. I really do believe that it’s a fun film and we have all worked very hard and done what we can. I really am hopeful, but, at the same time, I am trying to stay realistic about it. I know I have done my job to the best of my ability. I am looking forward to seeing what the audience thinks about it and I am hoping for the best.”
