‘Roohi’ box-office collection day 8: The Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma starrer grossed Rs 50 lakh on Friday – Times of India


The Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma starrer was the first big film to have a theatrical release amid the pandemic. It made a box-office collection of Rs 2.50 crore on its first day.

Now, according to a report in boxofficeindia.com, the horror-comedy grossed Rs 50 lakh nett on its eighth day on Friday which was a 40 percent drop from the previous day. The movie also faced competition from Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Mumbai Saga’ that released yesterday on March 19. The report also added that the film will not go beyond Rs 25 crore nett total. Its total collection so far has been Rs 16 crore.

The Emraan Hashmi, and John Abraham starrer collected Rs 2.75 crore at the box-office on its opening day despite night curfew and other restrictions.

This was the first time that Janhvi, Rajkummar and Varun collaborated on a film. The film received a positive response from the audience and the critics alike.

Speaking about the film, it is based on the lines of the 2018 hit film ‘Stree’, which starred Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar in pivotal roles.
