It is a good sign for the film industry as people have stepped out to watch the film in theatres post the lockdown. The market fares in Delhi / NCR and some stations of UP are quite decent. Looking at the numbers, one can say that it is a right direction for the film industry as the audience wants to venture out to the cinemas.
‘Roohi’ is the first major Bollywood release post lockdown. Initially, the film was going to hit the theatres in the first week of June, last year. But due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, the makers had to postpone the release date. The makers opted for a theatrical release on March 11
Speaking about the film, it is based on the lines of the 2018 hit film ‘Stree‘, which starred Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar in pivotal roles.
In a recent interaction, the director talked about Janhvi’s role. He said, “We did multiple look tests to arrive at a combination of prosthetics and VFX to create the look for Janhvi. What really surprised me was the switch that Janhvi would make as soon as prosthetics would come into play, and her whole body language and voice would change to that of her witch character”.
