Registering for Covid vaccine? Government wants you to know this – Times of India

If you are registering yourself to get the COVID-19 vaccine then note that you can only do the registration online on the CoWIN website. The Ministry of Health alerted citizens that the registration and booking for appointment for COVID19 vaccination is to be done through CoWIN website–http://cowin.gov.in. There’s no CoWIN mobile app for beneficiary registration. The CoWIN app on Google Play Store is for administrators only.

While the government did announce the CoWIN app earlier, it is not meant for citizens. So, do not search for the Co-WIN app online or on Google Play just yet as you may be directed to download a fake app. There are already several fake apps floating around. So, remember that no app registration is required for Covid vaccine registration. It can only be done on the official CoWIN website.
The next phase of the vaccination drive for the age appropriate population has started from March 1, 2021. Citizens will be able to register and book an appointment for vaccination, anytime and anywhere.
All citizens that are aged, or will attain the age of, 60 years or more as on January 1, 2022 are eligible to register, in addition to all such citizens that are aged, or will attain the age of, 45 years to 59 years as on January 1, 2022, and have any of the specified 20 comorbidities (as annexed).
There will be only one live appointment for a beneficiary at any point of time for each dose. Appointments for any date for a COVID Vaccination Center will be closed at 3PM on that day for which the slots were opened.
However, on 1st March an appointment can also be booked for any future date for which vaccination slots are available. A slot for the second dose will also be booked at the same COVID Vaccination Center on the 29th day of the date of appointment of the first dose. If a beneficiary cancels a first dose appointment, then appointment of both doses will be cancelled.
With one mobile number, a person can register as many as four beneficiaries. However, all those registered on one mobile number will have nothing in common except the mobile number. The photo ID Card Number for each such beneficiary must be different. You can register using any of these ID proofs: Aadhar Card/Letter, Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC), Passport, Driving License, PAN Card, NPR Smart Card and Pension Document with photograph.
