Redmi 8A Dual starts receiving MIUI 12 update in India – Times of India
NEW DELHI: Xiaomi rolled out Android 10 update for its Redmi 8A Dual in September last year and now the company has started the rollout of MIUI 12 for the same smartphone. The Redmi 8A Dual was launched in February last year with Android 9.0 Pie operating system topped with the company’s own MIUI 11.
Now, the users of Redmi 8A Dual have revealed that they have started receiving MIUI 12 update. The update comes with the build number V12.0.1.0.QCQINXM and it also brings the security patch for the month of January 2021.
The company is rolling out the latest update in batches and it is expected to reach every Redmi 8A Dual user soon. The update weighs 487MB and you can manually check for it by going to the Settings menu.
For those unaware, Redmi 8A Dual is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor and it runs Android operating system. The smartphone comes with a 6.22-inch HD+ IPS display. The dot notch screen is protected with a coating of scratch-resistant glass.
In terms of camera capabilities, the Redmi 8A Dual comes with a dual rear camera which comprises a 13MP primary sensor with a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, you will get an 8MP shooter for selfies. The device comes with triple card slots. This means users can use two SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time. Both the SIM cards also support 4G VoLTE.
The smartphone is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. In terms of connectivity, the Xiaomi Redmi 8A dual offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type C.
