Jonny Bairstow played a 94-run knock, but the Indian bowlers came back strongly to script a 66-run victory in the first ODI of the three-match series against England on Tuesday here at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
With this win, India have gone 1-0 up in the three-match series. The second ODI will be played on Friday.
India had posted 317/5 thanks to KL Rahul’s 62* off 43 balls and Krunal Pandya’s 58* off 31 in the end. The duo added 111 of their 112-run partnership in the last nine overs as they sent the English bowlers on a leather hunt.
