On Tuesday afternoon, Rajiv Kapoor, the youngest son of Raj and Krishna Raj Kapoor, breathed his last. He was declared dead on arrival after suffering a massive cardiac arrest. Rajiv’s sister-in-law Neetu Kapoor took to social media to confirm the news, following which there was a deluge of condolence messages on social media.

The last rites were conducted at the actor’s Chembur home, where he had come down to keep his brother, Randhir, company during the lockdown. While the Kapoor family including Ranbir, Randhir, Neetu, Karisma, Aadar and others were present, Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Tara Sutaria, Chunky Panday were also in attendance.

Rajiv had made his acting debut with the 1983 film ‘Ek Jaan Hain Hum’. Later, he appeared as the leading man in blockbuster ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ (1985), which was Raj Kapoor’s last directorial venture. He made his feature directorial debut with ‘Prem Granth’ starring Rishi Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit.

Rajiv’s elder sister Ritu Nanda and brother Rishi Kapoor had passed away in January and April respectively last year. He was set to make a comeback to the screen with sports-drama ‘Toolsidas Junior’, also co-starring Sanjay Dutt.
