Rahul Gandhi slams Centre over Chinese build-up in Depsang area near LAC | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack at Centre over the Chinese build-up in the Depsang region near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh.
Citing a news report that showed night satellite images of Chinese build-up, Gandhi tweeted, “Mark my words, our land in Depsang is gone.”
“…DBO is vulnerable. GOI’s cowardice will lead to tragic consequences in the future,” the Congress leader tweeted as he referred to the Daulet Beg Oldie area in Ladakh.
The Galwan valley clash took place on June 15 last year when Indian troops led by Colonel Babu took on the Chinese troops near the patrolling point 14 area. India lost 20 troops in the fiercest clash between the two sides in a long time while the Chinese also suffered significant casualties.
A border standoff between the Indian and Chinese armies has been on in Eastern Ladakh since May last year and both sides had gradually enhanced their deployment by rushing in tens of thousands of soldiers as well as heavy weaponry.
Last month, the Indian and Chinese troops implemented disengagement in eastern Ladakh’s Galwan and Pangong Tso area.
