Priyanka Chopra regrets endorsing fairness creams, remembers putting talcum-powder on her face because she believed dark skin was not pretty – Times of India
Taking about the same to a news portal, Priyanka reportedly said that skin lightening was normalized in South Asia. According to her, it’s such a large industry that everyone was doing it. She added that it is still a check mark when you are a female actor, but it’s awful. Priyanka went on to say that it was awful for her as a little girl who used to put talcum-powder cream on her face because she believed that dark skin was not pretty.
Priyanka spoke about backing away from endorsing such products back in 2015. She reportedly said that she felt really bad about it, that’s why she stopped doing it. The actress revealed that all her cousins are fair and she was the one who turned out dusky because her dad is dusky. She revealed that her Punjabi family would call her ‘kaali’. At 13, she wanted to put fairness creams and wanted her complexion changed.
Meanwhile, on the work front, she was last seen in Shonali Bose’s ‘The Sky is Pink’ co-starring Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim in lead roles. She is yet to announce her next Bollywood project.
