As one of the most celebrated Indian filmmakers Sanjay Leela Bhansali turned 58 on Wednesday, several Bollywood stars including Sonam Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Katrina Kaif and many others sent in wishes on social media.

The ‘Padmaavat’ director hosted a small birthday bash which was attended by Alia Bhatt, Meezaan, Sharmin Segal, Ismail Darbar with his family and producer Shabinaa Khan. For the occasion, Alia opted for an ivory white one-shoulder top teamed with matching pants and heels. The actress looked drop-dead gorgeous as she posed for the paparazzi. ‘Malaal’ actors Meezan and Sharmin were twinning in white and blue outfits. Check out the photos here:

SLB dropped the teaser of his upcoming film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ starring Alia Bhatt on his birthday. The film is based on one of the chapters of noted author S Hussain Zaidi’s book, ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ also stars Ajay Devgn in a special appearance.

The makers have announced the theatrical release date of the film on July 30 this year. The film marks Bhansali’s first collaboration with Alia.
