OnePlus has finally revealed the launch date of its first-ever smartwatch. In a eight-second video posted on Twitter, the company has revealed that OnePlus smartwatch will launch on March 23. The company is holding a global event on March 23 where it will launch its next-generation flagship phones, OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. So the company’s smartwatch too will make its debut on the same day.
The date March 23 has been revealed just below the video which has the words that include: “Coming soon”; “It’s in the works … Will launch 2021”; and “Kab aaayegi watch OnePlus ki”. On the top is: You asked for it. You’re getting it.

OnePlus first teased its upcoming smartwatch in October 2020. “More things are coming to the OnePlus ecosystem. It’s just a matter of time …,” said OnePlus in a tweet with a wink emoji in the end. The tweet had a sketch of a smartwatch with words “what could have been but never will be. Sketches circa 2015” with June 26, 2019 written below.

According to a recent report in GizmoChina, “OnePlus has patented a Smartwatch design on German Patent and Trademark Office(GPTO). Although OnePlus hasn’t confirmed the design yet, the description of patent shows that OnePlus Technologies themselves have filed it. This suggests that the design with a round dial could be final as leaked before.”
The sketches reportedly show a round dial with flouted bracelet (straps). “On the right side, there are two buttons probably for UI navigation. On the back, there are sensors that could be for Heart rate, Blood Oxygen, Blood Pressure etc,” adds the report. Below are two visible contact points which are said to be for magnetic charging.
OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro to launch on March 23
OnePlus recently confirmed that it will be launching OnePlus 9 series smartphones on March 23. The company has entered into a deal with the camera company Hasselblad.
