This is the same sensor that was last seen on Oppo’s Reno 5 Pro Plus which offers a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Therefore, the same is expected to be there in the upcoming OnePlus 9 series smartphones as well.
Earlier this week when OnePlus had announced the launch date of the OnePlus 9 series, it had also confirmed that the OnePlus 9 series will make use of a custom Sony IMX789 sensor and will be “the largest and most advanced main camera sensor ever on a OnePlus device.”
The firm had also announced its partnership with Hasselblad — a Swedish camera company — to co-develop future smartphone camera systems.
Through this partnership, OnePlus said it will introduce software improvements including colour tuning and sensor calibration first and then later on introduce more improvements.
The OnePlus 9 series smartphones will come with new Hasselblad Pro Mode. This mode will have a dedicated user interface to give an authentic Hasselblad look and feel.
