‘Mumbai Saga’ box-office collection day 1: The John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi starrer earns Rs 2.75 crore on its opening day – Times of India

Sanjay Gupta’s gangster drama, ‘Mumbai Saga’ finally released in theatres on March 19 amidst the pandemic. While many were skeptical about its opening collections, given the night curfew and other restrictions, the film managed to do well on its opening day.

According to a report in boxofficeindia.com, John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi set the cash registers ringing at the ticket counter on its opening day. The gangster drama collected Rs 2.75 crore nett on its first day. The report also added that despite restrictions the film managed to grow in the evening where there were shows. The film has been hit in the Mumbai circuit due to the restrictions but it still beat the number ‘Roohi’ did last week on Mahashivratri.

‘Mumbai Saga’ brought together Emraan and John on the screen for the first time. While Emraan played a no-nonsense cop in the film, John played a dreaded gangster. Their cat-and-mouse game in the movie has received appreciation from the audience and the critics alike.

Apart from John and Emraan, the film also starred Gulshan Grover, Suniel Shetty, Mahesh Manjrekar, Rohit Roy and others in key roles.
