‘Mumbai Saga’ beats first day collection of ‘Roohi’ in Mumbai circuit! – Times of India


John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi’s rivalry has been welcomed by fans in Mumbai. The film hit the screens on Friday and despite the rise in Covid-19 cases, ‘Mumbai Saga’ has received a massive thumbs up from the audience in the metro city. According to the latest report on Boxofficeindia.com, the Sanjay Gupta directorial has managed to rake in Rs 81 laks nett in the Mumbai circuit, which is the highest opening day number post Covid-19.

With this figure, ‘Mumbai Saga’ has managed to beat the first day collection of ‘Roohi’ in Mumbai, which had collected Rs 65 lakhs. The horror drama has released on the festive occasion of Maha Shivratri while ‘Mumbai Saga’ achieved this feat despite the new restrictions in the city. According to the report, ‘Mumbai Saga’ received a good response in Rajasthan, Bihar and Nizam / Andhra too. Bihar saw a collection of Rs 12 lakhs nett with single screens contributing decent numbers. Nizam / Andhra was the third best circuit after Mumbai and Delhi.

‘Mumbai Saga’ is set in the 80s and 90s and narrates the story of a clash between John Abraham’s gangster character and Emraan Hashmi as the cop. The film also features Suniel Shetty, Kajal Aggarwal, Rohit Roy, Mahesh Manjrekar, Prateik Babbar, Amole Gupte and Gulshan Grover in pivotal roles.
