“We love you, Britney,” Miley Cyrus said as she couldn’t think of the better stage to show her support to Pop-icon Britney Spears. The singer, who was performing at a pre-Super Bowl show, extended her support to the star after a controversial documentary about Spear’s conservatorship debuted on Friday, February 5.

Cyrus didn’t just give a shout-out to the ‘Toxic’ singer, but even incorporated her into her name into the lyrics of her hit 2009 song ‘Party In the USA’. With the original lyrics read, “A Jay-Z song was on,” Miley shuffled things up a bit and sang “A Britney song was on” with a smile on her face.

Since her documentary aired, Britney has been receiving an outpour of love and apologies from fans and fellow Hollywood stars. “WE ARE SORRY BRITNEY” even began trending on Twitter on Sunday. Sharing throwback photos of the star in distress, fans apologised for past mistakes.

The documentary ‘Framing Britney Spears’ looks back at the singer’s life and career, including her relationships with Justin Timberlake and Kevin Federline and her infamous breakdown, which led to her conservatorship. It also sees how the singer fought through it all to regain control of her life and finances.

Meanwhile, it was an emotional day for Cyrus as well, who teared up while singing ‘Wrecking Ball’ and struggled to sing the moving chorus.
