Microsoft Teams to get specific message reply feature and over 700 new emojis in April – Times of India
Software and cloud computing giant Microsoft is soon going to roll out a new feature to video chatting platform Teams that will enable users to reply to specific messages in the chat.
The company Is working on adding this functionality and it is currently in the development stage, it confirmed this through its Microsoft 365 Roadmap plan.
Explaining how this feature will work on Teams chat, Microsoft in its description said, “When chatting in Teams, you will be able to reply to a specific message. The original message will be quoted in the reply text box, helping everyone in the chat to more easily understand the message’s context.”
The option to reply to specific messages will come to 1:1, group as well as Meeting chats.
Even though there is no expected date of launch, the tentative release date is set to be April 2021. The feature is listed to be under development since earlier this month.
Another feature that came under development at the same time and has a similar tentative rollout timeline is the Expanded Emoji Picker.
“The expanded emoji update offers people more fun and expressiveness in Teams. It also introduces a wider range of diversity and representation. The emoji set has expanded from 85 to over 800 emojis, with a category selector, skin tone selector and short code picker” said Microsoft in its description.
