Kangana Ranaut recalls weight management as she gears up for ‘Thalaivi’ trailer launch ahead of her birthday – Times of India


Kangana Ranaut is all set for the trailer launch of her much-anticipated film ‘Thalaivi’ on her birthday this week. All excited for the D-Day, the actress today took to her Twitter handle and teased fans with some glimpses from the biopic. Reminiscing the challenges of her weight management required for the role, she shared, “One day to go for the trailer launch of #Thalaivi”.

She further added, “Gaining 20 kgs and loosing it all back within a span of few months wasn’t the only challenge that I faced while filming this Epic Biopic, wait is getting over just in few hours Jaya will be your forever.”

Reportedly, the trailer of the movie will be launched in two cities- Mumbai and Chennai on March 23, on the occasion of the actress’s birthday. Sources also add that the makers have lined up a trailer launch and press conference in the Tamil Nadu capital, in the presence of Kangana, Arvind Swamy, producers Vishnu Induri and Shailesh R Singh. However, in a similar event in Mumbai, Swamy who will be essaying the role of late MG Ramachandran in the movie, will skip the Mumbai do.

Talking about the film, ‘Thalaivi’ is based on the life of the late actor-turned-politician J. Jayalalithaa. From her struggles in the film industry to become one of the most powerful female politicians in India, the film is touted to reflect her entire career span.
