Actor Sanjay Kapoor‘s daughter, Shanaya Kapoor is finally getting her long-awaited Bollywood debut and who better to launch her than mentor Karan Johar? The director took to his handle on Monday to formally introduce Shanaya as his new talent and revealed that her debut film will go on floors as soon as July 2020.

Although details of the project have been kept under wraps, Karan showered praises on Shanaya in his post that read, “Her enthusiasm, perseverance and diligence is so amazing to see. Join us in showering your love & blessings as she begins her first film with @DharmaMovies, this July!”

Sanjay also shared the post on his handle and penned a note that read, “With her unabashed enthusiasm, resilience & sparkle – My daughter is all set to take over your screens soon. Give her your love & blessings as she is ready to start the journey of her FIRST FILM with @Dharmamovies this July.”

Wishes poured in from all quarters with her Kapoor cousins – Janhvi, Anshula, Rhea, sending in their notes of love and spreading the excitement about her upcoming debut. BFF Ananya Panday also joined in and penned a not of love for her bestie that read, “My baby girl!!! Kill it Shanicakes!”

Messages of love and encouragement also came in from uncle Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor’s lady love Malaika Arora among many others.

Shanaya previously worked as an AD on cousin Janhvi Kapoor’ movie. The starlet was set to make her debut in 2020, but waited it out owing to the pandemic.
