Instagram wants a TikTok-style feed for Stories – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Last year Facebook-owned Instagram introduced TikTok rival feature Reels. Now, it appears that the app is all set to emulate another feature of TikTok. According to a report by TechCrunch, Instagram is working on introducing vertical feed for stories which is inspired by the vertical video format of TikTok.
The report also adds that navigating the stories in vertical format by swiping up and down would make Instagram Stories appear like Reels, the video feature introduced by Instagram last year.
TechCrunch also confirmed that the vertical Stories feed is in the testing phase.
This upcoming feature of Instagram was first spotted by a developer Alessandro Paluzzi and he also shared a screenshot of the same on Twitter. The report also adds that the feature is not live yet. An Instagram spokesperson said, “This is an early prototype and is not currently testing on Instagram.”
Presently, the Instagram stories appear in horizontal circular tabs for individual posts, but after this feature they will appear like videos appear on TikTok.
Recently, Instagram rolled out the Recently Deleted feature. Using this new feature you can restore photos, videos, reels and IGTV videos. Photos, videos, reels, IGTV videos and stories you choose to delete are removed from your account immediately and moved to the Recently Deleted folder. Deleted stories that are not in your archive will stay in the folder for up to 24 hours. Everything else will be automatically deleted 30 days later.
