Ishant Sharma on Tuesday posted a video showcasing the warm welcome he received from his furry friends as he reached home after India’s Test series triumph over England. In the video, Ishant can be seen standing on the door and his three pet dogs came running in from inside the house, wagging their tails and lashed on to him. “What coming home feels like @toyandcocodogs,” Ishant captioned the video on Instagram. Ishant played in all four Test matches in the series but only bowled as many as 59 overs, with Indian spinners tormenting England batting line-up on turning tracks.


The veteran fast bowler, who became only the second Indian pacer to complete a century of Test matches, finished the series with six wickets at an average of 26.67.

Ishant hasn’t played a limited-overs match for India since 2016. His last ODI appearance came in January 2016, while he last played a T20I match in October 2013.

Ishant has entered an elite league of players who have played 100 Tests for their respective countries. He is only the 11th player from India to play 100 matches in the longest format. Batting great Sachin Tendulkar holds the world for most Test matches played with 200 appearances.

During the England series, Ishant also became completed 300 wickets in Test cricket. He has now picked up 303 wickets at an average of 32.27. He has picked up 11 five-wicket hauls in an innings, apart from one 10-wicket haul in the match. Ishant has played 80 ODIs for the country, picking up 115 wickets.
