Grammy Awards 2021: BTS bring the house down with their performance of ‘Dynamite’ – Times of India

BTS did not win their first Grammy Award this year but their stellar act at the ceremony created history. The popular septet was nominated in the ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ category for their smash hit ‘Dynamite’ and performed to the same song at the Grammys. This is for the first time that BTS performed one of its songs live.

BTS left the audience captivated with their act, as they performed from Korea. The boy band created history as theirs was the first ever K-pop band performing to one of their own songs at the Grammys. Although they didn’t win, the seven-member band’s act sent fans on Twitter into a meltdown.

The South Korean band’s hit number ‘Dynamite’ was up against the likes of Taylor Swift’s ‘Exile’ and Justin Bieber‘s ‘Intentions’, with Lady Gaga-Ariana Grande’s ‘Rain on Me’ bagging the award. BTS is a popular group and their fans reacted strongly as the band lost out on the Grammy Award. The BTS ARMY soon started trending hashtags like #BTSOurGreatestPrize and #LightItUpBTS on Twitter in reaction to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s song ‘Rain On Me’ winning the award.
