Google Pixel becomes a ‘lifesaver’ for a man caught in an accident – Times of India

He mentioned in his Reddit post that the heavy machinery rolled off of a ledge and fell in the small ravine, landing upside down. Walker said that he was stuck inside the Bobcat with the emergency exit completely blocked and the main exit partially blocked.
He further added that his seven ribs and four thoracic vertebrae (centre spine) were broken. However, his Pixel 4 XL came to his rescue with its Car Crash Detection feature in this situation. This whole event triggered the Car Crash Detection and since the user was unconscious because of the fall the phone contacted 911.
When Walker woke up, he screamed for help and heard through his Bluetooth earbud that an emergency dispatcher was connected and speaking with him. The dispatcher informed him that he has already sent rescue services to his location and after a few minutes the Southern Platte Fire Protection District first responders were assisting him out.
Enabling the Car Crash Detection feature helped Walker in coming out alive from that situation.
If you also have a Pixel phone then you can also turn on this feature. In order to enable Car Crash Detection, you have to go to the ‘Safety’ app in the setting menu. There you will see the Car Crash Detection’ and you just have to turn on the toggle to activate the feature.
