Google photos: Search on Google Photos for the web becomes easier – Times of India
Google Photos on the web is getting features like the search tab and favourites shortcut. According to a 9to5Google report, Google is adding the Explore tab to Google Photos on the web. It will be equivalent to the Search tab available on the Android and iOS app of Google.
The new Explore tab will offer different carousels like People, Places, and Things. The 9to5Google report says that these options will span the entire screen. There will also be a ‘View all’ feature that will enable one to see all photos in a dense grid view.
The Explore page will also have links to Your Activity, Creations, and Categories, the report adds. The page is said to simplify the search experience on the web version of Google Photos. Tapping on the Explore tab will open a compact dropdown with a list of recent queries, Favorites, and nine faces.
Another feature coming to Google Photos on the web is the Favorite shortcut. As per the report, Google Photos web will add a Favourite tab to the library section. This will offer easy and quick access to all photos and videos that have been starred by a user.
The 9to5Google report says that these changes will start rolling out for many users starting today. However, the wider rollout may take some time.
In other news, Google has reportedly rolled out new features for Google Photos users that will enhance the video viewing experience on the mobile app. It has enabled users to double-tap to zoom any video and a second double-tap brings back the zoomed-out view.
