Google makes parents’ lives easier with new Family Link features – Times of India
Internet search giant Google has announced that it is rolling out new features to its Family Link app which have been most requested by its users.
The app will let parents categorise apps as “always allowed” to enable them to use the apps without any time constraints. This means that using these particular apps won’t be counted in the daily screen time of the kid.
Additionally, the Family Link app will give more details such as an overview of how the child is spending their time in apps, how it changes over a week or month and what portion of time was spent in “always allowed” apps.
Also, parents will be able to manage parental controls directly from their kid’s device. “In the Android Settings for parental controls, you can now set screen time limits right from your child’s device,,” said Google.
The company is also rolling out support for a website — families.google — which is said to be a one-stop technology resource.
This website is claimed to offer detailed guides that spell out how to approach your kids’ technology.
