Google Chrome will soon let iPhone users ‘lock’ their Incognito tabs – Times of India

Internet search giant Google has started testing a new feature on the Chrome app for iPhone users that will allow them to add a security layer for accessing the Incognito mode.
As per a report by 9to5Google, Google Chrome will let users “Lock Incognito tabs” making them blurred in the tab switcher. Later when users confirm that their identity, using Touch or Face ID, then the app will open the Incognito mode.
The report adds that this feature is listed in the release notes, however, it is not yet available to all beta users. “There appears to be a server-side component, while the public launch of Chrome 89 is expected next month — assuming Google’s iOS update situation gets resolved by then,” added the report.
Once the feature is live, users will be able to control it through Settings > Privacy > Lock Incognito tabs when you close Chrome.
Last week, Google rolled out a Chrome browser feature for Android users that solved users’ problem of too many tabs by organising them in groups.
Once these groups of tabs are created, users will be able to see a bar at the bottom for quick access. This bar offers access to each group at a time with options like New Tab within the same group and removing of tabs from a group.
