The golden night of Hollywood is here – the Golden Globe Awards 2021 is on in full swing with Hollywood royalty and television’s greats coming together to celebrate the best in cinema. Although the celebrations are watered down this year owing to the Covid-19 threat, it will not fall short of the glitz, glamour and grandeur. Hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will give the audience another entertaining dual act, but on two different stages this year. ‘Mank’ is currently leading the way with six nominations, while the drama ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’ follows behind with five nods. As the record books tell us, the ones who win the Globes, eventually go on to get Oscar glory. Top contenders for the night also include ‘The Father’, ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’, ‘Nomadland’, ‘Promising Young Woman’ among others. The Golden Globes also honours the best in television and are voted for by members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Keep watching this space for more updates.
