Explosives left near Mukesh Ambani’s residence: CCTV footage reveal route taken by vehicle | India News – Times of India
NEW DELHI: More details have emerged about the modus operandi behind a vehicle with explosives being abandoned near businessman Mukesh Ambani‘s Mumbai house.
Retrieving CCTV footage from various spots, police have been able to piece together the route taken by the vehicle.
The vehicle was first spotted in CCTV cameras at Shindewadi junction in Dada, from there it went to Worli and then towards Haji Ali. It then drove to Carmichael Road via Byculla (Khada Parsee).
An Innova SUV is also spotted in the footage shadowing the Scorpio. The driver of the vehicle in which the explosives were found is believed to have escaped in the Innova after abandoning his vehicle.
Proprietor of a grocery, outside whose shop the SUV was parked, told TOI that his CCTV showed the vehicle arriving around 1am on Thursday. “The driver did not come out of the vehicle till around 3am,” he said.
The FIR has been registered at the Gamdevi Police Station against unidentified persons, a Mumbai Police spokesperson said.
Several units of Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch have fanned out to various parts of the city to identify the drivers of the vehicles. An NIA team is also at Crime Branch, sources said.
20 gelatin sticks and several fake number plates were found inside the abandoned vehicle. The registration number on the vehicle was the same as that of an SUV in Ambani’s security detail, police said.
A terse note addressed to Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita was also found inside.
