From romantic pictures and funny videos with their boys to funky dance moves, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh are often seen setting couple goals through their social media posts. The duo met and fell in love in 2001 during the making of their debut film, Tujhe Meri Kasam, which hit the screens in 2003. While there was constant speculation about them being in a serious relationship, they didn’t speak about it till they tied the knot on February 3, 2012.
Riteish and Genelia, who are parents to Riaan (6) and Rahyl (4), celebrate nine years of togetherness today. In a chat with Bombay Times, Riteish says that unofficially, it’s their 19th year together as a couple. “It’s been a wonderful journey. To be in a relationship or a marriage that is so good is a blessing. We have known each other for 19 years,” he shares.

Ask him what keeps them going so strong, and he replies, “Genelia and I keep our needs and wants limited. We are happy with all that we have. Once your circle of happiness is small, you feel satisfied and content easily.” The actor adds that Genelia has added a structure to his life. He further elaborates, “She helped me better my food habits. I used to eat at 1 am or at any given time, but today, I am done with my dinner by 7 pm. In fact, I used to be a hardcore non-vegetarian, but for four years, I have been a vegetarian. It’s been nearly eight months now that I have turned vegan. Also, Genelia has given my life a structure. She has taught me time management. I didn’t know a day could have so much time (smiles!).”
