Exclusive! Krishna on dad Jackie Shroff’s birthday: This world needs more people like him but they don’t make them like him anymore – Times of India

In a career spanning over four decades, Jackie Shroff has delivered over 200 films and managed to stay relevant even in the ‘millennial’ era. The actor keeps shuffling between his Lonavala farmhouse and plush Mumbai residence. But Jaggu dada, as he is fondly called, will be in the city today to ring in his birthday with his family. ETimes caught up with his daughter Krishna Shroff, who spilled the beans on what they have planned for him and why it is such a special occasion for all of them. Excerpts:

You recently commented on one of your dad’s social media posts, asking him to ‘come back early’. Will he be in Mumbai on his birthday?
Yes, we’re going to make the most of our time together and go do what we love to do the most as a family: eat!

How do you plan to celebrate?
We’re planning to take him out to lunch, then hopefully drive down to our farmhouse together if everyone’s schedules allow it.

One quality that you have imbibed from your father?
People tell me that I’m a lot like my dad when it comes to our personalities. We’re both go-with-the-flow kind of people and can adapt to any situation, with any person, and place. We’re both pretty unfazed!

One strength and one weakness of his?
His adaptability is his strength. To find out a weakness is tough. In my opinion, he’s way too generous. It’s just his nature, but people often take advantage of the fact, and I can’t stand it.

Your birthday wish for him?
One day isn’t enough to celebrate the man. He’s one-of-a-kind and this world needs more people like him, but unfortunately, they don’t make people like him anymore. Happy birthday, daddy.
