Exclusive interview! Varun Sharma: I pray that with every birthday I continue to make people laugh – Times of India
How do you plan to celebrate your birthday this year?
It’s going to be a working birthday for me and I am the happiest when that happens. So, it’s going to be on sets, filming this beautiful film ‘Cirkus’, celebrating it with my crew and my entire team. I hope some surprises have been planned and I wish to be with my family at night, cut a cake with them and get back again to face the beautiful camera, which is doing something that I love to do.
Your most memorable childhood memory of a birthday?
Every birthday celebration is special and every year has a different vibe. On my last to last birthday, I was shooting in Amritsar on the day, and since my hometown is in Jalandhar, all my childhood friends came down to Amritsar to surprise me. I am mostly in touch with all my friends but also the ones with whom I had lost contact, came over. It was really sweet and special.
Any birthday resolutions this year?
I think the year 2020 was very difficult for everyone. I got to spend a lot of time with myself and my family. I introspected a lot, made changes for personal growth. So, my birthday resolution would be to go on at least two family holidays every year, and those holidays will have to be without work to spend more time on my personal growth and on myself.
Is there any difference between what you wished for on your birthday before becoming an actor and now?
I think before my debut, every wish was related to becoming an actor someday and getting to watch my own films in the theatres. Even after that happened, I hope and pray that with every birthday I continue to make people laugh, smile, and that I continue working with the most amazing people, doing something that I have always dreamt of doing. So, the wish hasn’t changed much.
