Exclusive Interview! Shamita Shetty: Honestly, I’m fed up of being single! – Times of India

Shamita Shetty recently sparked wedding rumours when her brother-in-law Raj Kundra demanded that she get married soon and even joked about a ‘swayamvar’ if she doesn’t find a husband soon enough. In response to it, during an exclusive interview with ETimes, Shamita laughs. “I think my family is so fed up of seeing me single. They truly just want to see me happy with someone soon. And quite honestly, I’m fed up of being single too,” she admits.

However, that doesn’t mean that the actress will be reckless about it. “When it comes to your partner, you have to choose the right person, knowing you can live with them for the rest of your life, learn from each other and grow in every way… spiritually, intellectually etc,” she points out, adding that she’ll never make a hasty decision when it comes to her life partner. “I’m not someone who will make a decision in haste and let loneliness decide the wrong partner for me,” she asserts.

So what does she look for in her Mr Right? “I look for kindness, honestly, integrity, intelligence, humour and good values and ofcourse, a fun, loving guy! And yes, I believe he exists!” chuckles Shamita.

Interestingly, the actress had marked her debut in Bollywood with ‘Mohabbatein’, an iconic romantic movie which hit the screens in 2000. Speaking about her definition of love, Shamita shares, “For me love is oxygen, I can’t imagine life without it. And yes, I’m a diehard romantic! And I don’t like playing mind games, when it comes to love. For me, it’s the purest emotion and I enjoy the simplicity of it. I don’t think the definition of love has changed, it’s just our portrayal of it. We’ve gotten a lot bolder, I guess, in our expression of love on screen through our stories and characters.”
