Exclusive interview! Randhir Kapoor: My nurse went to wake Rajiv up in the morning; his pulse was dropping – Times of India
Ask him how’s he coping up, and Randhir replies, “Do I have any option? What can I do? What has to happen will happen,” Randhir adds while talking about the puja that he, his wife Babita, daughter Karisma and a few other Kapoors performed on the chautha (a public gathering was avoided on account of the ongoing pandemic). “It was a small puja for Rajiv’s chautha.”
The topic naturally drifts towards Rajiv. Randhir informs us that his youngest brother was very excited about his Bollywood comeback with ‘Toolsidas Junior’ helmed by Ashutosh and Sunita Gowariker. ETimes had also brought you the story that the Gowarikers had in fact fixed Rajiv’s interviews with the media for Sunday, February 14. “Rajiv was a very gentle and extremely jovial person. It is so tough to believe that he is gone. He had no medical history. His health was simply fine; he had no problems whatsoever,” points out Randhir.
So what exactly happened on Tuesday, February 9? “Well, I have a 24-hour nurse since I have a bit of a problem in walking due to a nerve-related issue. The nurse went to wake him up in the morning at about 7:30 am and he did not respond. She detected that his pulse was very low and dropping further. We rushed him to the hospital but all efforts to save him failed,” relays Randhir, adding, “And, now I am left alone in this house”.
