Janhvi Kapoor might only be a few films old but she is already a head-turner at events where she puts her best foot forward. As she’s turning a year older today, ETimes buzzed her stylist, Mohit Rai, who has been putting pieces together for the actress, to find out about her style statement and here’s what he had to say:

When asked to speak about Bollywood‘s budding fashionista, he raves, “Janhvi and Khushi will definitely be on the list of upcoming fashion icons. Their mother Sridevi was one of the most stylish women in India so they have grown up with that influence. Even if they are wearing denim and a T-shirt, you will see refined fashion. That’s something you can’t buy, you have to have. Khushi has such a strong command over her style which is so rare.”

Insisting he loves working with Janhvi because she is instinctively stylish, Mohit adds, “She knows how to pull off a saree just like her mother, and slip into a sexy dress with the same effortlessness. Sridevi, herself, was so ahead of her time; back in days she wore dresses from Dior and all which were not even available in India!”

While her mother is a timeless inspiration, Janhvi also seeks inspiration from her fashionista cousin Sonam. “She loves Sonam Kapoor for inspiration and you can see the influence. I mean every other actress looks up to Sonam for inspiration, whether they admit it or not, because she has changed the fashion game in India and set trends like never before. And 10 years down the line Janhvi is going to be a global icon just like Sonam” he signed off.
