Exclusive! Deepika Padukone’s new Levis ad accused of plagiarism by ‘Yeh Ballet’ director – Times of India
Deepika Padukone’s new Levis ad has run into a major controversy. An internet user questioned the backdrop and the set of the ad in question, claiming that it was identical to the one in Sooni Taraporevalla’s ‘Yeh Ballet’. The set designer for the advertisement admitted that it was the case. ETimes is bringing you the story FIRST.

Admitting that he was told by the Levi’s production designer to make it that way, production designer Rupin Suchak wrote, “Yes we did 🙂 in fact that’s what our director wanted so we had to recreate that”.
Sooni lashed out against the ad saying that this kind of plagiarism is nothing but intellectual theft. ‘It is a sad state of affairs that intellectual rights in Indian cinema, TV and modelling industry are not protected” says a source.
‘Yeh Ballet’ was produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur.
