On his son Arjun Kapoor’s insistence, Boney Kapoor is all set to make his debut in acting in Luv Ranjan’s next at the age of 65. The producer will be seen playing father to Ranbir Kapoor’s character in the movie.

Talking exclusively to ETimes about his experience on the sets of the film as an actor, Boney said, “As a producer, I have to look into everything. I go to set to see if my cast and crew are comfortable. Here since I was an actor, the production was taking care of me. I was much more relieved as an actor.”

Boney said that when the script was being written, Luv and his team wanted the character of Ranbir’s father to be somebody like Boney Kapoor, and offered him the role. However, he initially turned it down as he was busy with his production ventures.

Recently, when asked if he is nervous about his acting debut, he told a news portal that Ranbir has virtually grown up in front of him and is very talented. So there is no nervousness as such. He also added that Dimple Kapadia, who plays Ranbir’s mother, is someone that he has known from even before the time she signed Raj Kapoor’s ‘Bobby’.

The Luv Ranjan directorial brings together the pairing of Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor for the first time.
