ED targeting Kerala officials at Nirmala’s behest: CM | India News – Times of India

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday wrote to the chief election commissioner that it is due to the interest of Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman that Enforcement Directorate (ED) sleuths were summoning officials of Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) for interrogation.
He also said that the agency is not heeding to the model code and sought the intervention of the EC.
On Tuesday, the ED had registered a case against KIIFB in connection with alleged violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act by the board while borrowing overseas funds.
The ED will soon question the KIIFB CEO and deputy CEO as part of the probe. It will also question senior officials of a private bank that handles the main accounts of KIIFB.
