Disha Ravi arrest: Followed norms, no leniency on basis of age, says police | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police commissioner S N Shrivastava on Tuesday said all procedures laid down in the law were followed during the arrest of Disha Ravi from Bengaluru.
Shrivastava told mediapersons that law does not differentiate on the basis of age. “Law does not differentiate between a 22-year-old and a 50-year-old. She was produced before a court which sent her to five-day police custody. It is wrong to say there were lapses in the arrest,” he said.
The police commissioner’s reaction came amid accusations that police did not follow due procedure during the arrest. Shrivastava said the investigation was at an initial stage and details will be shared at an appropriate time. Delhi Police has been vehemently denying allegations of any excesses on its part.
