With a career spanning over 30 years, Mr. Perfectionist Aamir has established himself as an unstoppable and one of the most influential heroes of Bollywood. Talking about his films back in 2001, ‘Lagaan’ emerged as one of the most successful films of his career and cemented him as one of the most phenomenal stars in Bollywood. But did you know, the actor had rejected the script twice before taking it up ?

Earlier, Mr. Khan himself admitted that he had rejected the first script for Lagaan when director Ashutosh Gowarikar approached him. He also revealed that the filmmaker approached him with the script again after a month. When asked about the reason for rejecting, Aamir stated that the story was amazing and would break records at the box office which he acknowledged but was still scared to accept the offer and hence refused to be a part of the movie.

After a long time later, Aamir had a realisation of losing a chance to star in a very good project. He went on to seek advice from someone close to him who asked him to take the risk of starring in the movie. Finally, the actor took up the project, and then you know it all! The 2001 epic sports drama was also produced by Aamir himself. ‘Lagaan’ then also became the third movie to be nominated for the Academy Awards.
