Cue sports return to Asian Games for 2030 Doha | More sports News – Times of India


NEW DELHI: Cue sports has returned to the Asian Games fold for the 2030 edition in Doha, Qatar, the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports (ACBS) announced on Sunday.
It will be after a hiatus of 20-long years that the cue sports will feature at the continental showpiece event in 2030 Doha.
Cue sports was part of the Asian Games for four straight editions from 1998 till 2010, after which it was dropped.
“The Billiard sports was part of the Asian Games four times till 2010 and now once again we will see our sport in the Asian Games during Doha 2030. I must also thank the efforts of the team of Qatar Federation who helped the ACBS in drafting and backing our sport in the bidding of Asian Games 2030,” said ACBS secretary Michael Alkhoury.
India has a rich history of winning medals at the Asiad in four editions 15 of them in total, including five gold. Among the medallists are the veteran Geet Sethi and Pankaj Advani.
